Careers in the Sciences Panel

Are you considering a career in the sciences? This panel will feature alumni and employers in science fields who will offer their perspective about the wide variety of professional opportunities available. Panelists will provide advice about resumes, interviewing, and navigating the job and internship search process. They will also offer insight into their careers and highlight what skills and experiences make candidates competitive.

A FREE event for Boston-area college students!

When: 11am – 4pm, February 5, 2011
Where: Microsoft Nerd Center, One Memorial Drive, Cambridge, MA

241 high school and college students will gather on a winter Saturday to talk about making web and mobile applications. In-demand technologies will be introduced by accomplished folks. Designers and developers from hiring web startups will be available to meet students after the talks.

On Friday, April 3rd, a lineup of talks are scheduled, billed as “Tech for Good.”  Tech for Good features three talks by remarkable humanitarians and business leaders in their respective fields: “Solutions for Energy,” presented by Bob Metcalfe, General Partner, Polaris Ventures and Inventor of Ethernet, 9:00 am to 9:50 am in Fulton 511; “Solutions for Education,” presented by Charles Kane, President and Chief Operating Officer, One Laptop per Child, 10:00 am to 10:50 am in Merkert 127; “Solutions for Healthcare,” presented by Ben Heywood, Co-Founder and President, PatientsLikeMe, 2:00 pm to 2:50 pm in Fulton 250.
