Intern Molly here, back with another resource highlight. The Boston Book of Lists is a compilation of names and addresses of companies and people and includes news about the companies, press releases, and other relevant information. This resource, compiled by the Boston Business Journal, is available both online and in print in the Career Center Library. The print version is great for browsing, and print lists are available not just for Boston, but also New York City and Washington, D.C.
The online version is interactive, and you can browse the lists by either company of person, or search using a variety of criteria. Company information can be viewed either in a snapshot profile, which displays all relevant information from the Book of Lists website, or in a full profile, which displays information from all of the resources available, not just the Book of Lists itself. Additionally, there are rankings of the best companies by size, and similar criteria, including businesses owned by women.
You can use the Book of Lists to do a number of things, such as to learn about companies in your chosen field, to find out who to contact in a company, to research a company or a specific person before an interview, and to learn where a given company ranks among similar businesses.
Check out the Boston Book of Lists today. BC students access passwords through EagleLink in the Document Library section. Or, stop by the library to peruse the print version.
