Haven’t been to the Career Center yet? There’s still time! Join us for any and all workshops listed below—and lunch!—on BC Career Center’s Senior Day on Friday, May 6, and find out how we can help you with the job search process…
Still don’t know what you want to be when you grow up? Join us for the Skill Scan career assessment, a card game that organizes what skills you are good at and what skills you prefer, to point you toward career fields you might enjoy. Then stay for questions and answers with a career counselor.
*11am-12:30pm: Graduate School Workshop
Thinking about graduate school next year? Attend this workshop to learn about your graduate school application options, as well as strategies to make the most of a year off.
*1:30-3pm: #1 Online Job Search Strategy
Learn how to utilize BC’s database, EagleLink, as well as national databases, to find the types of positions you’d like to apply for. Bring your laptop to follow along!
*3-4:30pm: #2 Cover Letter Bootcamp
Once you know which jobs you’re planning to apply for, the bulk of the work goes into writing cover letters. Bring your first drafts, completed cover letters, or blank pages to the Career Center, where you’ll get a brief workshop on cover letter writing, and have counselors on hand to answer your questions or help proofread as you work on your letters independently. Bring your laptop and walk away with some serious work done!
*ALL DAY: Job Application Workspace Git’Er Done! From 10am-4pm
The Career Center basement will be open as a workspace, where you can bring your laptop and work on job applications, with counselors on hand to answer questions and review your work.
**You MUST RSVP through EagleLink if you wish to attend any workshops!
