The Clark Avenue Middle School, a public middle school serving graces 5-8 in Chelsea, MA, is seeking volunteer tutors for a few of its academically struggling students for the 2009-2010 year.
As part of their drop-out prevention efforts, Clark Avenue Middle School is seeking university studetns and/or professionals who want to help make a difference in an urban community and diverse public school.
Tutors will work 1:1 with students who have experienced academic failure and need extra support to feel motivated and engaged in school again. Tutors will be supervised and supported by the Guidance Counselor at the school, a 2004 graduate of Boston College’s School Counseling program.
Tutoring commitment can be as little as one hour per week!
