Citi Performing Arts Center Education Department provides opportunities for energetic, creative college and graduate school students to serve as program research interns. This is an excellent opportunity for those with an interest in arts education, administration, musical theatre and in working with the community, theater companies, professional teaching artists, students, teachers and summer program administrators.
Summer 2009 INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
This summer, we are seeking three motivated individuals to assist with the administration and programming of our Celebrate Musical Theatre: Sing Out Loud program for Citi Performing Arts Center Education Department. The Celebrate Musical Theatre Interns report directly to the Manager of Performance Programs, the Manager of Community Relations and the Teaching Artist for the program and will be responsible for assisting with the administration and implementation of the program. We seek one in Administration, Teaching Assistance for the High School Internship and Outreach.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
o Support of Teaching Artist for Celebrate Musical Theatre High School Internship program
o Support of High School Interns in community outreach efforts including Build Your Own Musical Workshops and Wang Theatre tours
o Communication with Teaching Artist, High School Interns, Education staff and Community Organizations
o Processing of participant applications, release forms and program evaluations
o Working collaboratively with members of Education staff on a large-scale community event Qualifications: o Knowledge and interest in the performing arts and young people
o The ability to work with High School students of various backgrounds
o Strong communication, organizational and writing skills
o Detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task
o Proficiency in MS Office software and FileMaker
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Dates: SUMMER: June 29th – July 31st, 2009
Final Showcase on or around July 31st, 2009
Specific program hours are, July 7th – July 31st Monday – Friday from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
There is a small stipend available for this position.
